October Research announces that 25-year title and settlement services industry veteran Mary Schuster has joined the company as Chief Knowledge Officer. In her new role, Schuster will help drive content across multiple channels, support the editorial boards and develop new educational tools for keeping the industry educated and informed throughout the year.

“We are thrilled to have someone of Mary’s caliber and stature within the settlement service industry join the team,” CEO and Publisher Erica Meyer said. “She has hit the ground running, and we are grateful and excited that she chose October Research for the next chapter of her career. Stay tuned for some exciting new developments we will be rolling out to assist our partners in the real estate transaction.”

Schuster comes to October Research from RamQuest Software, where she led operations and product teams and became a nationally trusted teacher and trainer of regulatory reform during RESPA Reform and TRID. She began her career in the industry as a residential closing officer in Wichita, Kan., and worked as a commercial closer, agency manager, corporate marketing director, and industry consultant.

“The alignment of October Research’s mission statement with my own has always been apparent; now having the opportunity to educate and empower real estate professionals in strengthening their businesses each day is truly exciting,” Schuster said. “I look forward to finding new ways to affirm the value and integrity of homeownership through an industry I am so very proud to be an active part.”

In 2016, Schuster was awarded the prestigious October Research Leadership Award, for helping lead TRID implementation across the housing industry.  In 2021, she began hosting a podcast for the title and settlement industry, which quickly became a go-to career development tool for producers and managers across the nation.

“In addition to providing the daily information critical to sustaining a healthy real estate sector, I am also passionate about the work of our Women’s Leadership Summit,” Schuster added. “The two go hand-in-hand for me, as we strengthen women’s professional bonds and skills through our WLS community.”
