Nov. 23, 2011, Cleveland, Ohio – October Research, producer of the highly respected National Settlement Services Summit and publisher of The Title Report, The Legal Description, Valuation Review, RESPA News and Dodd Frank Update is pleased to announce it has been acquired by Erica Meyer.
The sale comes at an exciting time for October Research, which in the past year, has expanded its portfolio of products and services to the mortgage, real estate and settlement services industries. Meyer, has held sales, marketing and technology management positions at UPS and Sears Holdings Corporation’s online business unit. She will look to leverage her expertise to further feed the company’s growth and expansion.
“I had been in the market for awhile but had not come across a company that I felt was a really good fit for my skills and interests,” Meyer said. “After looking at dozens of companies, October Research clearly impressed me with its reputation, quality of product and strategic positioning.”
Former Owner and Publisher Robert M. Stutz, who purchased the company in February 2011, said while it was personally difficult to release a company with the extraordinary reputation and success of October Research, he agreed that it was an excellent fit for Meyer.
“I have had the opportunity to work with the Meyer family over the past decade and feel very strongly that Erica’s business expertise is a perfect fit for October Research. Her passionate interest in the company, as well as the business savvy she brings seemed an unbeatable combination,” Stutz said.
October Research plans to leverage its online presence and diverse audience to connect the industry, suppliers and consumers through its online portal, OctoberStore.com. Meyer’s skills will significantly assist in this process, as the company launches innovative products and seeks to expand into new markets.

The sale was finalized on Nov. 17. The company will continue to operate under the name, October Research.
