As the most recent CEO of Ginnie Mae, Joe played a major role in the federal government’s efforts to address the current financial crisis and restore stability and liquidity to financial markets. He brings with him more than 36 year of experience in the mortgage and banking industry.

Joe previously served as CEO of Lender Services Inc., transforming that company from an appraisal, title and closing management company to a provider of new technologies and business process solutions for the national marketplace.

He also served as CEO for Basis100, a Toronto-based publicly traded technology company. Basis 100 is responsible for the development of the Canadian Bond Trading system, as well as the Automated Property Valuation (AVM) methodology currently utilized throughout the U.S. Market. Earlier, he served as President of Century Mortgage Company.

Phil Schulman

Loretta Salzano

Loretta Salzano is one of the firm's founding partners and manages Franzén and Salzano’s state and federal compliance practice. Loretta advises mortgage lenders, brokers, banks and other financial institutions regarding licensure, fees, disclosures, reporting, advertising, marketing, fair lending and other matters related to their products and services; and she assists clients in responding to regulatory examinations and actions. Loretta also drafts and negotiates contracts on behalf of financial institutions, including, but not limited to loan purchase and sale agreements, warehouse line agreements and servicing agreements. Jeff Schurman, CAE

Jeff Schurman is the executive director of TAVMA, the trade association of the real estate settlement services industry. In this role, he is responsible for member services, fund raising, membership development, and administration. Jeff is also an independent consultant at Schurman Research Company, LLC, a vendor management and leadership advisory service.

Jeff serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute, a Pittsburgh-based state-licensed and nationally-accredited interfaith counseling and psychotherapy 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. There he serves as Treasurer and chairs the fund raising committee. In addition, he is a Past-Chair of the Appraisal Foundation’s Industry Advisory Council. He is a member of the World Future Society, and the American Society of Association Executives, where he holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from La Roche College, and a Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Liberal Studies from Duquesne University.

Bob Skalstad

Bob Skalstad is the President of Skalstad Consulting, Inc. (SCI) and an Executive Vice President and a Principal of Corporate Management Advisors (CMA).

He has held multiple board positions in several mortgage and real estate-related companies, and most recently served as vice-chairman of Metrocities Mortgage, Inc., a national mortgage company based in Sherman Oaks, California, specializing in high-end residential retail, affiliated business arrangements and wholesale Alt-A lending.

Prior to joining Metrocities Mortgage’s board of directors, Pat enjoyed a lengthy career with Fidelity National Financial, including eight years as President and chief operating officer, and as a director. During that time, the company grew to be one of the top title companies in the world. He was named one of the “10 People to Watch in 2004” by Inman News.

David A. Townsend

David A. Townsend is President and CEO of Agents National Title Insurance, a regional title insurance underwriter based in Columbia, Missouri.  He founded Agents National Title Insurance to address the needs of independent agents. 

Prior to entering the title insurance world, David worked in private law practice in the areas of real estate and insurance defense. He has presented at the Missouri Land Title Association Title School and many other title and real estate seminars.  David is a member of the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, and the Missouri Department of Insurance Title Insurance Advisory Committee.  David is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law and Drury University.
