After founding the company in 1997, Jeff began an aggressive growth plan, and now the company offers title insurance, appraisals, surveys and closing services for residential and commercial transactions in all 50 states. As the company’s president and CEO, Jeff continually works with Title Source’s 350 employees to develop improved processes and procedures, resulting in strong year-to-year growth.

“In 2006 alone,” said nominator Elizabeth Jones with Quicken Loans, “Title Source provided more than 135,000 title insurance policies, conducted nearly 200,000 appraisals and closed more than 125,000 purchases and refinances. Not satisfied with past success, Jeff is continuing to work daily to expand Title Source and to build it into the nation’s premiere title company.”


What was your first job in the settlement services industry?

My first job in the settlement services industry is my current position as president of Title Source Inc.


Why did you become a settlement services proivder?

Having experience in the lending industry, I recognized opportunities to develop creative and more efficient ways to integrate settlement services and products into the mortgage finance and real estate transaction.


What about your job gives you the most satisfaction?

Seeing talented people within the organization grow into leaders.


What is the best advice you could give?

Think deeply about your industry and your business. Question everything and never accept the answer, “because that’s the way we’ve always done it.”


What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

My greatest professional achievement was recognizing the opportunity to grow a business beyond the traditional footprint of its industry peers.

Dan Gilbert, chairman of Quicken Loans.

Creative thinking and the contributions of 375 outstanding individuals that work for Title Source.


Who is the most inspiring speaker you have ever heard at a conference?

Kyle Maynard, born with a congenital birth defect known as Quadmembral Limbs Deficiency. Having basically no arms or legs, Kyle became an accomplished wrestler and weightlifter, successfully competing against fully functional opponents. Despite his severe physical deficiencies, Kyle’s positive outlook on life and his quest for challenge is truly inspirational.


If you could have lunch with any person living or historical, who would it be and why?

Tiger Woods: I need help with my short game.


What is something unique about you that not many people know about?

I’m a big fan of Formula 1 racing.


What is your favorite book or movie?

Movie: “The Usual Suspects”

What do you do to relax?

Plays drums.


What’s the most fulfilling thing you have been involved in within your community and why?

I serve on the board for JARC, a non-profit organization in Southeastern Michigan that provides assisted living and respite care for mentally disabled adults and their families. For the past 25 years, JARC has been recognized as a leading non-profit organization supporting the needs of mentally challenged adults. My involvement in JARC allows me to be involved in the programs, fundraising and leadership that help the disabled to function independently, gain acceptance and lead productive lives in the community.
